trying to import music into the library but the import function only looks into the icloud, the music is on the hard drive. I do not see an option to change where the music app is looking for the library.
Whatever the initial folder location offered to you when you select File... Import, you should be able to select some other drive or folder in the left hand pane or from the dropdown list at the top, and then browse to the location you want. Select a folder to import all the files in all the subfolders within it that are not already known to the library.
If you previously used iTunes you might want to launch Music with the alt/option key held down so that you can access and convert your old iTunes Library.itl file to the new Music Library.musiclibrary format.
