Having said that, MalwareBytes is a lightweight utility that is pretty benign and very helpful when you feel the need to run the occasional scan for malware.

It is an excellent app for finding and isolating adware and malware. The free version is adequate for most of us. Just run it when you think you may has gotten some adware or malware. I've only run it a couple of times in 2 years.
