Using a iMac Mid 2011 (27") as a Display for a New Mac Mini M2 Pro

Using a iMac Mid 2011 (27") as a display for the new Mac Mini 2M Pro. Can you connect directly to the Thunderbolt (1) or Mini Display Ports? I understand that a Luna Display can be used to connect via WiFi or Ethernet but if the Luna had to be used can the cable tat has a Mini Display connector on one side and a Thunderbolt (3/4) on the other side work?

No. The M2 Mac mini does not support Target Display mode, so cannot us the 2011 iMac directly as a display over Thunderbolt at all.

The Luna Display dongle generates its own signal picked up by the Luna apps on the devices used as a display.
