Here are two examples:

Row 11 is a Footer row. Setting it to be a Footer row allows the formula to reference all cells of column B (except those in Footer or Header rows) as the cells to be summed.


Same table. The added column, G, is not a 'footer column',so the reference to cells to be added must be either a list with each cell,separated by commas, or a reference to the first and last cell in the row, connected by a colon (:).

The formula shown is entered in G2, and filled down to the rest of the cells in column G.

The formula in B11 is entered as shown in B11, then filled right to F11 (or to G11, where it will return the total of values in all of the cells from B2 to F10.
