Login items issues

I've been having speed issues with MAIL and Apple support asked about Login Items.

While Login Items weren't the issue according to Apple; I am curious if I can delete the login items listed without issues.

Currently listed are:

Google Chrome

Android File Transfer agent

Do these listed items mean that some components that these programs need are preloaded on login? Any impact by deleting them?

Actually, I hardly ever turn off the Mac, which is on most of the time.

Login Items are just a way of automatically launching those apps instead of having to double-click on them in the Applications folder. If you delete the Login Item, then you will need to double-click that app to use it next time.
