Cannot Change Owner or Permission on Files or Folders

I cannot change the owner or permission on several folders or my external hard drive. I don't even get the Lock icon at the bottom of the screen when select a folder and hit the Command+I keys.

I am logged in as the Admin and even created a 2nd admin account and I get the same thing. I have tried using Disk Utility and using the Fix Aid and Restore options, nothing works. What am I missing?

BTW, I am using macOS Big Sur 11.7.3 on a MacBook Pro mid-2014 13 inch Retina (A1502).

Thank you in advance for you help and support.

Your drive is formatted as ExFAT. ExFAT does not support owners or permissions.

And, personally, I wouldn't use ExFAT on a drive that large ... 3TB ...
