There are several ways, all described in this support link→Copying personal photos and videos from iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your computer

Editorial comment: iCloud Sync is the easiest to use, and also assures that photos will be saved in the event of loss or damage to the iPhone that took them. iCloud sync is near real time, so minutes after you take a photo it is safe in your iCloud space.
