Printer icon on dock replaced by white question mark

Two days ago, my HP printer went Offline & I did all the Resume, pause, queue checking to try to restore the printer function. Did not work. I finally ended up resetting the printer & followed the directions to add it back into my system. (I have macOS Ventura.) This took several attempts but printer now works fine & the System Settings Printers & Scanners window looks normal. But where the printer icon should be is now replaced by a question mark. How can I remove it & get the printer icon back on the dock without having to delete the printer & add it back (again!) which I have done many times already?

To clarify, when I left click the white question mark, the name of my printer appears, so I know the connection is working.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Right click on it in the Dock then choose Options>Remove from Dock.

Nect time you print click on the new icon & choose Keep in Dock.
