Anyone else having an issue with the dictation mic on the keyboard staying on after you finish speaking?
Noticed it after update 16.1.1.
It used to stop texting automatically after you stopped speaking.
It's super ANNOYING having the darn thing text everything you say as well as what’s said around you until you tap it to turn it off (which is easy to forget).

To clarify, is this in a specific app or across multiple apps in iOS?
Also, this is when you tap the microphone button and speak? If so, this is normal behavior from Dictation in recent iOS versions. If you'd like to see tweaks to how Dictation works we can recommend leaving feedback here: Product Feedback - Apple

It’s across all apps. It isn’t an app specific issue.
No more than two updates ago, you could tap the dictation mic on the keyboard (below “return”) and dictate your text or message and within 2 to 3 seconds, the mic would disengage automatically.
It no longer does that as of 16.1.1.
Now it picks up a ton of extra ambient speech until you remember to tap it to disengage it. It truly is annoying and a pain having to go back and edit your text all the time. 😡
I’ve seen many complaints about this feature and everyone wants it to roll back to the previous functionality.
