I just paid for more storage and now this tells me I don’t have enough storage!

iCloud storage does not affect the internal storage on your device. This is a very commonly misunderstood topic.

What you need to do is optimize the storage on your device.

What you may need to do, going forward, is buy devices with more internal storage. This will raise the price of the device, but that's the cost of business.
