These events occurred in the night (closed lid at around midnight, hoping it went to sleep mode) I don't have any usb devices attached.

Apple doesn't document what happens during sleep mode. That stack overflow link is just quoting an obsolete Apple Support document, which itself was only a consumer-level document and may not have been accurate. Perhaps that's why the information was removed.

Regardless, the USB bus regularly gets reset. That's why you shouldn't attempt to boot from it if you don't have to.

You also shouldn't look at log files. I've seen more than one person literally lose their minds doing that. Hundreds of messages every second. Some with cryptic, scary, or bizarre text. And it never, ever ends. No matter how many hours you stare, the messages never stop.

"You also shouldn't look at log files." this was literally a great part of my previous job ^^

You’re working with Apple now. Apple doesn’t specify which log messages are important and which are what it defines as “log noise”.

"I've seen more than one person literally lose their minds doing that.". Funny I already lost my mind ^^

I don’t find it particularly funny seeing people in mental distress.
