Hi. My son has an IPhone 11 as does my wife. When the ring/silent switch is set to silent on his phone and he uses his volume buttons a message drops down from the top notifying him that the switch is set to silent. The message stays for a couple of seconds and the slides up out of view. My wife would like the same for her phone but I cannot see how to set it for her. I have trawled the Internet but with no success. Please can the community help.

If the above fails and your ringer switch is actually turning Ringer On/Off then...
Turn Switch Control on or off
Important: Switch Control changes the gestures you use to control iPhone.
To turn Switch Control on or off, use any of the following methods:
> Accessibility > Switch Control.I have not come across any settings on an iPhone to enable or disable it.
Please check if the ringer switch is doing what it is supposed to do. Mute! Does it mute?
Try Restarting the device. That's it.
