iCloud and phone backup

I have my photos backed up to iCloud and i also have iCloud Backup. Is it ok to delete iCloud Backup to save space? I read somewhere iCloud Backup consists of Photos also.

If you have iCloud Photos turned on, photos are synced with iCloud and with other devices where iCloud Photos is turned on and they are not included in iCloud Backup.


If you don't have iCloud Photos turned on, photos are included in iCloud Backup.

When you use Messages in iCloud or turn on iCloud Photos, your content is automatically stored in iCloud. That means that they're not included in your iCloud Backup.
