Apple Watch Series 3 - display only showing apple icon and sometimes time / charge logo

Hello - I'm only getting the Apple logo and sometimes the charge symbol and time on the screen on my Series 3 Stainless Steel apple watch. i can't see anything else even through the watch is fully charged and connected to my phone. my phone shows its there but i can't access anything from the phone either. I've tried holding one button down and both buttons down for a full reset. nothing....

is this the end of the apple watch? how can i trouble shoot this issue on why its not showing anything else?
