Do we have any updates about .webloc file automatically defaulting to Safari?
Right click file > Get Info > Open With: > Greyed out defaulted to Safari
I am trying to switch it back to Chrome to get it to auto-launch the file, but is stuck on Safari.
iMac (2017 – 2020)
This seems to be the behavior with webloc files not being able to be opened with any browser other than Safari. Users had reported they were able to open with another browser by right-clicking on the webloc file, then choosing "Open With".
In the past, users reported an update fixed the issue, but it keeps reappearing. I can confirm the same happens on Ventura 13.3.1. It may be a bug or Apple may be unsure the direction they want to go with this. You can submit feedback here: Product Feedback - Apple
It still works correctly if you go to the right place. Click on System Settings, Desktop & Dock, Default Web Browser and change your default browser here.
