Change greyed out Apple ID on mac

I have a 2013 mac, when i try to update software from the app store the apple id is greyed out and is not current. How can I enter my current apple id?

iMac 21.5″, macOS 10.13

Use Screen Time on your Mac - Apple Support

  • Turn Screen Time on your Mac Off.
  • Choose Apple menu  > System Preferences, then click Screen Time. 
  • Click Options in the lower-left corner.
  • Click Turn Off.
