No scroll bars on Ventura

I’m fairly new to macs but this is baffling me and cannot find an answer. I’m using Ventura 13.2.1 and just cannot get the scroll bars visible using either mouse or touch pad.

I’ve googled this and checked system settings/general but no option listed. Occasionally if I stretch one of the boxes to enlarge it briefly shows but once it’s disappeared no matter what it doesn’t come back

any help would be appreciated 🤷‍♂️

The refer to image below and enable the setting that best suits your needs.

While we are at it " I’m using Ventura 13.2.1 "

This computer is a couple of updates behind the current version Ventura 13.3.1

The updates bring several Bug fixes and Security fixes also

Scroll bars are hardly a necessity when you can scroll with two fingers on the trackpad but for sure they are still there. By default I believe your system is set to “automatically” depending on your pointing device but you can set it to “Always”.

I am away from my mac and as things were shuffled around in Ventura the best advice I can give is to use the search box in System Settings. Type the word scroll and I am sure you will find the relevant settings right away.
