Safari > popup ads > blocked. But Google keeps showing up full width bottom of the screen.

MacBook Pro (Ventura 13.3.1) Can't seem to get the slow motion, rise from the bottom of screen, full width ads from Google to stop. This is making use of the computer a miserable experience! How can these irritating google ads be stopped?

I don't know what some of these website owners are thinking. Popup ads, slide-over ads, ads that take up the whole screen... it makes them utterly useless.

Actually I do know what they're thinking. Merely loading those pages causes ad revenue to accrue to them. That's all they care about. Your Mac is just an ATM to them.

I know how to set a Home Page. I do not want the invasive Google Ad popping up when using Safari. If this issue is just related to a page I have used for twenty years without issue I will just dump it. My concern was this popup thing was an issue with my computer getting something new in it that was allowing the popups.

Yeah, try going to a car dealership website. Stuff is popping up and sliding over all the time, repeatedly, even after closing them repeatedly. "Click here to see our latest deal", "click here to chat with a representative", etc. and some expand if your mouse happens to pass over them. You can barely use the sites.

I've given up using Safari on my phone. I can't see past all the trash.
