How do I gain access to an old Apple-ID?

I want to gain access to an old apple-id to retrieve some old purchased music. My problem is that the laptop I'm using is my only trusted device at the moment and the phone number connected to the account is a number I used 10 years ago. I only remember my password.

I have tried to recover the apple-ID but since I can't verify that the account is mine because of two-step verification it was kind of a dead end. I get having safety measures but this never-ending circle is honestly comical at this point.

Should I just give up? is it even possible at this point?

Especially the section that says "If you don't have a trusted device with you".

If you already tried recovering your account as shown on this article How to use account recovery when you can’t reset your Apple ID password, then the next best step would be to contact Apple Support team: Apple Support
