backup not working

Hopefully someone has seen this - I'm getting a message that says my iPhone Xs cannot be backed up because there is not enough iCloud storage, however when I go to iCloud, I have tons of storage available. Do I need to go to an Apple store to get help?

First you can try to power down your phone and then try again, and if that doesn’t work then you will need an Apple employee to help you
