Keeping original date on photos while transferring from gallery to files

Hi, does anyone knows how can i keep the date and time as the original, while I'm transferring my photos from my gallery to files, as I want some specific photos to be transferred to a separate folder in my iCloud storage. As each photo was captured on a specific date or saved on a specific date, I want to keep the sequence of the photos as they appear in my gallery.

But when I select the photos and try to save them in files the date and time changes to current time.

Hi Hamzamjb,

It sounds like you're relocating photos from your Photos app to Files.

The support article View and modify files and folders in Files on iPhone offers the following information on sorting and organizing files in Files:

"Change how files and folders are sorted

  1. From an open location or folder, tap.
  2. Choose an option: Name, Date, Size, Kind, or Tags."

You can also use the information in Organize files and folders in Files on iPhone to learn how to add tags or edit file and folder names.

There is no setting to preserve the creation date when moving information into Files, but you can use other methods such as changing names, adding tags, or manually sorting into folders for organization.

Regards.
