Stuck in Private Browsing

Can’t turn off private browsing! I see someone asked the same question in March of 22 but, they received no answer.

I’ve followed directions found on web multiple times with no success.

I did not turn on private browse to the best of my knowledge but, did upgrade to iOS 16.5 recently.

Can someone shed any light?

Hi there 4shee,

In order to turn off Private Browsing on your device, first ensure you are following these steps from Turn Private Browsing on or off on your iPhone:

How to turn off Private Browsing
1. Open Safari on your iPhone.
2. Tap the Tabs button .
3. Tap Private  to show the Tab Groups list.
4. Tap [number] Tabs , then tap Done.

If this continues after following those steps, please provide more details on exactly what occurs when you try to turn off Private Browsing and if you have any restrictions, profiles, or device management installed on your iPhone. These settings can be responsible for this behavior as well. These articles show how too check:

Use parental controls on your child's iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

Install or remove configuration profiles on iPhone - Apple Support

Cheers!
