Purchased using Apple Pay online. Merchant has to refund but the credit card used is no longer on my Apple Pay

If the credit card that I use online with Apple Pay is no longer available, can the merchant complete a refund with Apple Pay? If so, where would the refund be available?

Apple Pay is just a way to use a credit card; the merchant doesn’t even need know that Apple Pay was involved; they just charged the credit card number. The refund will go to the credit card account; if the card number has changed the issuer will know that and credit the correct account. If the account has been canceled the issuer will apply a credit, which you can then request them to send to you.
