ICC Profile not appearing as a choice

I'm running Mac Ventura 13.4.1 with an Epson ET 2803printer and I want to use a specific ICC profile I downloaded. I followed the directions for where to put the ICC profile but It's not showing up as an option when I go to print.

I downloaded most recent Epson drivers for the printer.

I made sure my Mac is using the Epson specific drivers & not the default ones.

I placed the downloaded ICC profile in here: Library>ColorSync>Profiles (main folder not sub folder).

When I look in the folder I see it but when I go to select it out of the ICC choices it's not there. Please see screen shots. Let me know if you have any ideas that might help me.

If you're looking for Hiipoo as part of the profile name to choose, you'll never find it that way.

In the same way font names you see in your lists are determined by their internal names, NOT the desktop name, ICC profiles are the same way.

Here's one example. I double clicked the Hiipoo ink & Hiipoo paper & Epson ET-2800.icc profile to open it in ColorSync Utility. Then clicked the Localized description strings heading. That's the name you'll see in your apps. Only ET-2800.

It's the same with all of their profiles. As another example, this is what you'll see in your profile lists for these five.

This last image was another user's screen shot. Couldn't tell you why two of them show up twice. Other than they probably have the same profile installed into two different Library folders.

I had a similar problem, and discovered that ColorSync could not open the profile either -- it was because the file was not opened for reading, that is in the console `ls -l thatfile.icc` showed `-rwx------`

I opened the file for reading by ColorSync (and Photoshop):

`sudo chmod 744 thatfile.icc`

and *voila* visible in Photoshop.

I am having the same issue. I have closed everything and re-booted more times than I can count.

I contacted Epson, they said it was a Photoshop issue.

I contacted Photoshop and spent well over an hour with them, and they said an upgrade to Sonoma would fix the problem. I begrudgingly upgraded to Sonoma, and it still doesn't show latest Epson icc profile in Library > ColorSync > Profiles.
