New Apple Watch no pairing w iPhone

I believe the Apple Watch Series 8 requires an iPhone 8 or later. See the last lines of this article: Apple Watch Series 8 - Technical Specifications

"Apple Watch Ultra, Apple Watch Series 8, and Apple Watch SE require an iPhone 8 or later with iOS 16 or later."

You'll need to get a newer iPhone to use the Apple Watch.

iOS 15.7..7 is the latest iOS security update for iPhone 6S.

You need an iPhone with iOS 16.5.1, see -> watchOS 9 compatibility -> watchOS 9 - Apple

You need to upgrade your iPhone to a newer type iPhone.
