You can use the Migration Assistant, to choose which data you want to transfer from your old to your new MacBook.

Tone specific, Migration Assistant will give you the options to transfer (1) your old computer's settings and Preferences, which I would recommend, (2) all or none of your old computer's files, and allow none of your old computer's apps. Some people here recommend doing a clean installation of the apps n the new computer rather than transferring them. You will have to manually select and transfer the files you wish to keep. You could use a flash drive for that.
