The photo wall that I use for a screen saver shows the pictures very dark which is not what they look like in Photos. I can't find a setting to adjust the contrast for the photo wall.
iMac 21.5″, macOS 13.2
FWIW, there is no brightness/contrast setting for screen savers.
Try booting into Safe Mode then restart normally. Sometimes that will fix anomalies.
