column view showing follow ups

I use the column view in the mail app and there's this new feature that reminds you to follow up on some emails. What it does is put older emails the app thinks you should follow up on at the top of your inbox with a little tag that says "follow up".

The problem is that there is no such tag displayed in the column view but those emails will show up at the top of your inbox and you'll have no idea why.

Is there a way to turn the follow up feature off? Or at least fix the display so it shows the follow-up tag?

Yes, there is a way to turn off the follow up feature in Mail. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Mail app.
  2. Click on the Mail menu bar and select Settings or Preferences.
  3. Click on the General tab.
  4. Uncheck the box next to Enable message follow up suggestions.

This will turn off the follow up feature for all mailboxes in Mail.

If you only want to turn off the follow up feature for the column view, you can do so by following these steps:

  1. Open the Mail app.
  2. Click on the Mail menu bar and select View.
  3. Click on the Column Layout button.
  4. Uncheck the box next to Show Follow Ups.

This will turn off the follow up feature for the column view only.

To fix the display so it shows the follow-up tag, you can do the following:

  1. Open the Mail app.
  2. Click on the Mail menu bar and select View.
  3. Click on the Column Layout button.
  4. In the Columns section, select the Follow Up checkbox.

This will add a column to the column view that shows the follow-up tag for each email.
