Mac Pro laptop screen went black?

I’ve had my Mac Pro laptop since 2016. Love it but the monitor went black and so did the strip above the keyboard. I’m at a loss. Has anyone else had this problem and how did you resolve it.

Troubleshooting a Black Mac Screen:

A. Go Here: If your Mac doesn't Turn On or Start Up - Apple Support

B. Reset the SMC and your NVRAM:

(Applies yo Intel-Based Macs Only) Sometimes when changes are made to the system(i.e. Updates), system configurations (i.e. for Power) become manipulated, technically. So, reset the SMC and NVRAM. Try performing each thrice. Being it may take sometime, be certain you have the time to perform these resets.

C. Connect an External Display:

You can try connecting an external display to your Mac. Go here: Connect a Display to your Mac - Apple Support
