iMovie unable to open on MacBook pro

Numerous attempts to access iMovie on MacBook pro, 2019. Everything is up to date. iMovie tries to open and fails.

Try booting up in Safe Mode and, after everything loads, immediately shut down and reboot in normal mode. Then see if iMovie will open.

You could also try opening iMovie in a new library, by opening while holding down the Option key and selecting to create or open in a different library.


Also, it may be that you are running out of application free space on your Mac, such that iMovie does not have enough space to open.
