Transfer Music From Phone To iMac

Music is not updating either over Wi-Fi or when plugged into usb. It seems one-sided like it’s updating the old music on my iMac to my phone, but not all purchases from my phone within the last 3-4 months. I’m not an Apple Music subscriber, but that never mattered until I got a 2020 machine seemingly. I’ve looked for and tried several videos, articles, etc, and nothing works. Any particular reason library updates have stopped working? What am I missing now?

After some messing around in Music on the iMac, I went to “Account” -> “Purchased” and found all of my purchases were not downloaded to iCloud. There is a “Download All” button to the bottom right. Maybe this’ll help somebody else.
