The app specific password process isn't working. Can anyone help me?

Signed in at applied.Apple.com, clicked on 'App-Specific Passwords, clicked '+' typed in name of app. Next prompt was to go to another device, go to Apple ID in settings and continue. At this point nothing. No instructions on what to do next and no prompts appearing on any devices. What do I do?

It worked! Thanks. Ironic that Apple's own browser is the problem.

The solution I found to the problem is not to allow the iPhone or Mac to sign you in automatically with FaceID or TouchID, but instead I found complete success in manually signing in with my Apple ID and password, which then prompted a two-factor authentication prompt and code. Following that sequence, I was able to successfully revoke and add app-specific passwords.

I have been signing in manually but keep experiencing the same problem as originally posted. I keep getting the message:

Continue on one of your devices

On an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch go to Settings > Apple ID. On a Mac go to System Preferences or System Settings > Apple ID.

No further information is given, and there is no indication in the Apple ID section how to move forward.
