Printer Dialogue Box

Since the two latest updates to Ventura I am having issues when printing with the print dialogue box.

When using Apple Air Print, there is no button in the dialogue box for selecting two sided copies.

When using a sub connected printer buttons for both color / BW and two sided copies are not shown in the dialogue box.

Epson support assisted me in checking their side of the print process and stated that the dialogue box is Alles responsibility.

Running Ventura 13.5

Any help appreciated.

Remove the printer from macOS, reset the printing system, and try adding and testing the printer again.

If that fails, check back with Epson. (The drivers and settings and capabilities are loaded from the printer.)

I have done this multiple times across Ventura and now Sonoma and have not had any luck even with up to date Epson drivers. It appears to be on the Apple side of the driver from what I can deduct. This problem seems very widespread across anyone printing beyond the most basic of home printers. Very frustrating for a company supposedly devoted to creative professionals. I would love to hear from anyone who has had any luck resolving this issue though!

My Epson all in one shows a two sided print and a color/B&W options with Ventura Version 13.6 (22G120)

Give this a try: boot into Safe Mode according to How to use safe mode on your Mac and test to see if the problem persists. Reboot normally and test again.

NOTE 1: Safe Mode boot can take up to 3 - 5 minutes as it's doing the following;

• Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed

• Loads only required kernel extensions (prevents 3rd party kernel/extensions from loading)

• Prevents Startup Items and Login Items from opening automatically

• Disables user-installed fonts

• Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files

NOTE 2: if you have a wireless keyboard with rechargeable batteries connect it with its charging cable before booting into Safe Mode. This makes it act as a wired keyboard as will insure a successful boot into Safe Mode.
