Accidentally added funds to Apple ID rather than Apple Pay

So I accidentally added funds to my Apple ID and I saw that there is no other way to refund or transfer back onto the card, and I do not wish on spending it on any Apple apps or products, how can I get it back?

You need to contact Apple Support to request a refund.

See -> Check your Apple Account balance -> Check your Apple Account balance – Apple Support (UK)

scroll to ⤵️

If you have an Apple Account balance that you can’t use

You can't redeem or return Apple Gift Cards, App Store & iTunes Gift Cards or unused Apple ID balance for cash, except as required by law. If your jurisdiction allows the refund of redeemed gift balances, you can contact Apple Support to request a refund

When you contact Apple, include the following information:

•               Your Apple ID.

•               The refund amount.

•               Your current delivery address.

Glad you got it resolved. Accidents happen and from all the cases I have seen reported here where the person mistakenly added funds to the Apple Account instead of Apple Cash, I have seen it reported the they were able to resolve it by contacting Apple directly. I have never heard of anyone having to pay any fees for that to happen. Fees only occur for Instant Transfers out of Apple Cash into your account.

can I use my Apple account card in real life to buy some shoes?

No, the Apple Account is only for Apple purchases. Here is what it can be used for:

Since you previously stated you accidentally added funds to the Apple Account instead of Apple Cash, contact Apple directly and they can reverse that transaction back to your payment method.

I assume you did this using a Debit Card. If that is the case contact Apple directly to see if they can reverse the charge so it goes back to your Debit Card, then you can correctly add money to Apple Cash.

Those of you who have a linked bank account with a real debit card can be refunded to your debit card if you just call Apple Support. However in my situation I have a prepaid card for my Social Security benefits so I cannot and if that is your case, any type of cash card, funds cannot be refunded. I would suggest purchasing some subscriptions or an item from the store is really all you can do. Maybe upgrade something with it? Sorry I'm not more help

I had this same issue recently, and while it hasn't been fully resolved yet, I am hopeful I will receive a refund within the next 48 hours. I reached out directly to Apple Support since as this thread already states, when you add funds to your Apple Account, it will not show up as a refundable purchase. I had to reach out to Apple support directly. Here's the transcript of my conversation with an Apple Advisor who submitted the request for a refund on my behalf. Apple still may not approve it, and if so they will have squeezed another $9.99 out of me (grrrr!!), but this seems further than anyone has been able to get with this issue so far. I will update once the request is resolved.

So stupid me bought an Apple voucher worth 100€. There was a voucher code and a link to redeem it. Stupider me clicked on a LEGIT LINK from APPLE to redeem the money and the money has been added to my Apple Account Balance. It turns out you can only spend this money in App Store AND I WANT TO SPEND IT IN APPLE STORE! I CONTACTED APPLE SUPPORT AND THEY'RE NOT REFUNDING THE MONEY! Please someone find a solution for this. 100€ is a lot of money!!!!

Have no idea what voucher you purchased or if it is actually legitimate. For most using your Account Balance is no problem in the Apple Store, but not sure if your region is different. It may have something to do with the "voucher" you purchased, as I am not aware if any legitimate voucher that Apple sells that would provide a redemption link. Maybe you can post a screenshot or link of what you saw. I have seen scams like that though.

In addition to cash, you can use Apple Pay, Apple Card, PayPal, Debit or Credit Cards, Apple Gift Cards, and your Apple Account Balance to pay for an Apple product in-store.

Same! I was one the phone for 1+ hrs and was told I can make a complaint but there is no feedback process. I meant to deposit funds in my Apple Pay as I was out of country and thought it would be easier to make purchases. NOPE, I learned Canadians DO NOT have the option to use Apple Pay (was what they stated) and that’s why my funds were rerouted to apple account. Since subscriptions withdrew from funds available in this account vs my bank, I now have to wait for my request to refund these purchases in order to refund the original deposit amount (partial refunds are not available).
