my brother in law wanna add me to his family to listen Apple Music and he paid the version that allow him to add up to 6 members, my question is: do I have to use his Apple ID on my phone? Can I keep my Apple ID?

You can keep your Apple ID. He would have to invite you to his Family Sharing group.
