Data Transfer Files not appearing

I recently got a new macbook air and transferred data from my old windows PC. It seems like everything transferred but the documents folder (even though it was selected). Not sure how to transfer it because now when I try using the migration assistant it says I don't have enough space. Not sure how to delete files to free-up space either. Appreciate any help.
