This method does not work. In 3. **Account Recovery Contact Options:**

There are 2 options.

  1. Reset Password | Reset to my new password -> Login using new password -> Still ask for Security Questions Answer -> Click on "Reset Security Questions" -> Still ask for my Security Questions Answer which I FORGOTTEN
  2. Reset Security Questions -> Ask for my Security Questions Answer which I FORGOTTEN

If you've forgotten your Apple ID security questions and are unable to reset them through the usual methods, you'll need to follow a specific process to regain access to your Apple ID. Here are the steps you can take:

1. **Apple ID Account Recovery:**

Go to the Apple ID account page at https://appleid.apple.com and click on "Forgot Apple ID or password?".

2. **Account Recovery Request:**

Follow the prompts to begin the account recovery process. You'll be asked for your Apple ID email address and some other information.

3. **Account Recovery Contact Options:**

You'll be presented with different contact options for account recovery. Choose the one that works best for you, whether it's receiving a recovery code on another trusted device or using your recovery email address.

4. **Recovery Code or Email:**

Depending on the contact option you choose, you'll either receive a recovery code on your trusted device or an email to your recovery email address. Follow the instructions in the recovery message.

5. **Account Recovery:**

Use the recovery code or the link provided in the recovery email to regain access to your Apple ID. You'll be able to reset your password and update your security questions.

6. **Update Security Questions:**

After regaining access to your Apple ID, you can update your security questions to new ones that you'll remember.

It's important to note that this account recovery process might take some time and involve additional steps to ensure the security of your account. It's designed to help users regain access even if they've forgotten security questions.

If you encounter any issues during the account recovery process, you can reach out to Apple Support for assistance. They can guide you through the steps and provide personalized help based on your situation. Keep in mind that this process is in place to protect your account and personal information, so it may involve multiple verification steps.

Hello,

Try the directions in the article If you forgot the answers to your Apple ID security questions - Apple Support for resetting your security questions:

"Reset your security questions

1. Go to https://iforgot.apple.com/ .

2. Enter your Apple ID, then select Continue.

3. Choose the option to reset your security questions, then select Continue.

4. Enter your Apple ID password, then select Continue.

5. Follow the onscreen steps to verify your identity. The information you’re asked to provide may vary based on your account details and other factors. If you don't get any options to verify your identity, you can't reset your security questions at this time.

6. Choose new security questions and answers and select Continue."

Note that Apple labeled this article as "archived", which means it has not been updated since December, 2021 and may contain outdated information.

If you get a message about not having 'sufficient information', you will not be able to reset your security questions this way.

The article: About your Apple ID email addresses - Apple Support is updated and it implies you can use a rescue email (if you set one up -- if you did not, it is too late to do that now) to reset your questions: "If you ever forget your security questions, you can use your rescue email address to reset them. We also send any account security-related notifications to your rescue email address." How you do this exactly is not clear and my research into this reveals it may depend upon your region. Here is one possible way (from: https://www.alphr.com/we-do-not-have-sufficient-information-to-reset-your-security-questions/ ) but I have not tested it beyond the first step since I do not want to experiment with my account. ;-).

1. Visit this page and enter your Apple ID -->.https://iforgot.apple.com/password/verify/appleid

2. Enter your rescue email address and have a verification email sent there to reset your password.

3. Follow the link in the email to reset.

If you cannot get any of the above to help with resetting the security questions then realize that several years ago Apple transitioned to using to two factor authentication instead of security questions. Apple has since been persistently encouraging users to switch to the newer security system and your only recourse may now be to try to change to two factor authentication as outlined in this article --> Two-factor authentication for Apple ID - Apple Support Follow the instructions in the section "Turn on two-factor authentication for your Apple ID"

If you can neither reset the questions, nor switch to two-factor authentication, you may well have lost any access to that account.

If you wish to speak with Apple about this, contact with Apple ID account security using the information in this document --> Contact Apple for help with Apple ID account security - Apple Support

Did you speak with a person at Apple about this? Contact Apple for help with Apple ID account security - Apple Support

If they say there is nothing they can do for you then you will have to abandon the account and set up a new one. One disadvantage with not changing to two factor at Apple's urging is you are cut off from assistance since the system is now designed to support two factor only. The transition now only functions if everything is working smoothly. If something is not working with Security questions there are limited services for helping you with those and a transition to two factor.

If I go to Germany now with some of my 30 year old Mark currency, the banks just shrug their shoulders. They only do things with Euros now.

Dec. 2022 post by Apple Community Specialist K_Faith in the thread I’ve tried resetting my security question… - Apple Community

"If you’ve forgotten your security questions, there isn’t a way for Apple to reset them for you, or another way to access your account. You would need to create a new Apple ID, which also means you won’t have access to previous purchases or data stored in iCloud."

It is impossible to change to two-factor auth because it always asks for security question answer when I login in using the old password or a newly reset password. This page shows up every time I log in. Both on the web and on mobile. FYI, this community account is my new account, not the one I tried to revive.
