Seagate exteral drive for backup

I don't know how to use the seagate drive for back up. The instructions said Time Machine will need reformatting.

I am using iMac 2017 with Ventura 13.4.1. It isn't listed under devices.

Hi there!

When you setup a new Time Machine disk that isn't formatted as APFS, Time Machine will ask to reformat it. Allow Time Machine to reformat the disk so you can use it to backup your Mac.
