Camera is constantly turning off during facetime calls

During facetime calls my camera constantly turns off and i have to keep hitting the camera button to turn it on

Thank you so much for contacting us! I am sorry to hear about your problem with your camera turning off during FaceTime calls!

I suggest that you try updating your phone in case it is a bug that a newer software update might fix. Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
I also strongly suggest restarting your iPhone, Restart your iPhone - Apple Support.
If none of these work please contact Apple Support.
