Family sharing access on son's new MacBook Air

We got our son a new MacBook Air for college and we have family sharing, but the music doesn't come up on the laptop. It works fine on his iPhone, so the family sharing is set up properly. Am I missing a step somewhere to allow the new MacBook to access the shared iTunes?
