Why do texts I delete on my iPhone not also delete on my MacBook Pro?

It's so annoying to login and see 300 messages that I deleted a week ago, and it doesn't allow me to bulk delete. NOTHING will allow that on my MacBook, and it's up to date on software version. Honestly, iMessages should delete across my Apple devices, I thought, if I deleted from any one device? Is this not still the case?

It is a known and well documented bug that has been around for years. There is nothing you can do to fix it. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Yes, iCloud needs to be enabled for messages, but this is not the actual solution, because it is a permanent software bug.

This is not going to be fixed (due to the nature of Apple's programming practices and schedules) until Messages get written anew from scratch.
