How to delete multiple Contacts in my Contacts App

I just realized that I have about 500 of the same identical contacts in a Contacts List. Is there a simple way to delete all of these contacts?

iMac 27″, macOS 10.13

Troubleshooting Duplicate Contacts Deletion:


Deleting Multiple Contacts:

In the Contacts App, you'd have to use a computer to perform this. So, enable Contacts in iCloud Settings on your Mac and your iPhone. All will accessible in the Contacts app on your Mac.


A. Enable Contacts in iCloud Settings On the iPhone:

  1. Go to: Settings
  2. Tap: your name (top item)
  3. Tap: iCloud
  4. Tap: Contacts (so that it is green)


then...


B. Enable Contacts in iCloud Settings On the Mac:

Is Contacts enabled in Apple ID on your Mac? If not, enable it.

  1. Go to: System Preferences
  2. Click: Apple ID
  3. Enable: Contacts


then...


C. Delete the Duplicate Contacts:

Contact Apple for Support:

  1. Go Here: If you See Duplicate Contacts after Setting Up iCloud Contacts - Apple Support
  2. As it Reads: If you see duplicates in Contacts on iCloud.com, visit Apple Support for help.
