Scanner not available on MacBook Pro 2023

I have a Brother Multifunction printer from which Wi-Fi printing is not a problem, however, the scanner option does not appear in the printer window when I want to scan. I have reinstalled the printer a number of times to no avail.

How do I get the scanner to show up on my Mac?

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 13.5

Have you tried using the Brother iPrint&Scan app? It is available in the Mac App Store. Open the Mac App Store from the Apple menu and search for "Brother iPrint&Scan."
