Notes missing

I have done everything it has told me to do. My settings seem to be cracked. I am running the current update the notes were there a couple of days ago today I needed some information and I went to my notes and only the most current notes that were written in the last few weeks are there. Everything else is completely gone. There is no recently deleted folder. I’ve tried searching there’s nothing, it shows it’s supposed to be going to my mail. There’s nothing there. I really don’t know what to do. It wouldn’t be in a back up since I’ve never backed up my phone. That’s a longer story for another day. Thanks in advance
