photos
My photos app is not liked to my external drive where all my photos are stored on my iMac. How do I connect them so I can see them through my computer and hav them linked to my iPhone?

To be able to see the photos from your external drive in Photos and have them sync with iCloud Photos to your iPhone you have to import the photos from the external drive to your System Photos Library, and let Photos copy them into the System Photos Library. iCloud Photos cannot work with photos that are just referenced on an external drive and not copied into the Photos Library.
If your internal drive is not large enough to allow you to import and copy all photos into your Photos Library on the internal drive, consider to move your System Photos Library to the external drive, so you can import all photos to Photos.
