MacBook Air 2018 WiFi turns itself on

Hi, I have a MacBook Air 2018 (Monterey) on which I ALWAYS shut off WiFi before I start shutting it down. No exceptions. Recently, when I boot up the MBP, I see that WiFi is on. The first couple of times this occurred, I thought it was my failure to shut WiFi down. Taking note of this possible fault of mine, I began to note that I had carefully shut down WiFi, before shutting down, thereafter. Each time I re-boot, there it is, WiFi is ON.

Tried searching to see if others are experiencing the same issue, but found nothing. (Guessing that many people simply do not ever shut down.)

Appreciate any help and/or leads on this issue. Thanks

The radial lines of what? Where? Are you talking about the signal strength icon?

If your internet connection drops intermittently, there can be multiple reasons for that. But turning off Wi-Fi is not one of the fixes.

Honestly, I don't know anybody that doesn't want their wi-fi to stay on all the time. The usual complaint is that's not happening.

Yes, I am aware that it is not necessary to turn off WiFi, but I have reasons to do so.

My issue is with the MBA (incorrectly posted 'MBP' earlier) turning on WiFi on boot, after I have turned it off before Shut Down. This is more. Sometimes, the radial lines are black; sometimes, they are greyed-out...but, with out the diagonal line to indicate WiFi is off, and, when I check, WiFi is, in fact, still on.

At minimum, this is very disconcerting.
