I operate an iMac and Powerbook. When I delete an email I expect it to show up in the trash file. It doesn't. Where does it go? How do I get it back? What do I need to do to get it to show up in the trash bin?

make some change to your settings for each account if necessary..(?)

In Mail's Accounts settings in Ventura this is what you should have:
It's essentially the same for 3rd party email providers like Gmail and Yahoo.
I'm using Ventura 13.5.2. My "Account" window does not provide the info on the page that you showed. No options other than 'details' which doesn't show much.
When I delete an email it doesn't show up in the trash. Where is it?
