Cannot turn off Guided Access

Student was in Guided Access mode and could not get out of it because she didn't set a passcode, but it asked for one. Tried a hard reboot which was suggested but it just came back up in Guided Access. Possibly related is that DND was on and she only had 5% battery. I finally wiped it with Configurator but if there was an MDM command that could undo Guided Access, that would be faster and easier. I am using Mosyle. Does anyone know if that is possible to do remotely?

So I am having the same issue with an iPad stuck in Guided Access and the student does not remember making a password. I tried what @brbo suggested with force rebooting the iPad, however when it reboots it immediately goes back into Guided Access mode. I am not even able to open the settings or push the home button before the mode is enabled. Please let me know if there is a solution.

Am no expert on MDM ... however,

There is a discussion thread online, with some expert tips:

How do you escape Guided access if the tr… - Apple Community

Eg: reply says:

"When you are stuck in Guided Access mode, you are really stuck as the typical triple tap on the home button to quit out of Guided Access doesn't work. Even a forced exit won't work because the power button and the home button are disabled.

The only way to get out of Guided Access is to press the Home and Power button together for 15 seconds. This should turn off Guided Access by forcibly rebooting your device. Once your device is restarted, you can then go to Settings > Accessibility > Guided Access > Guided Access - and turn off Guided Access if needed".
