Should I turn off my computer at the end of the working day?

You may consider, at least, Restarting the computer one every 2 - 3 weeks or after extended usage in Memory Intensive tasks like Video Editing or Music Editing

Doing so will release the Memory (RAM ) being used and stored in the RAM and avoid " this computer has run out of Memory " error message Pop Up

Another factor, for the " Energy Conscience " persons, as long as the computer is on, even when in Sleep Mode, it is using electricity, tough at a reduced level

Then there are the " Power Brown Out " or " Power Failures " , " Power Spikes / Surges" which do occur.

With the computer Always on - well join the dots on what that can do to the computer

Personally, I use a expensive Uninterrupted Power Supply ( UPS ) to guard against such sudden Power Issues

Undoubtedly you will receive varying opinions on this question. My Macs are powered off overnight and back on by daylight. They stay on all day unless I will be out of the building for more than a couple of hours. I have been doing this for more than a decade and all of my Macs continue to power on and work without issue. That includes my 2011 Mac mini and my 2014 iMac, as well as newer devices.

FWIW, I turn off my Mac whenever I will be away from it for about an hour or more. I don't understand why one would not do so unless running some background apps. I also turn off the room lights when leaving a room. I turn off my car when parked. I turn off my TV when not watching it. ...

There is no reason to turn off your Mac. You can sometimes relaunch it when you feel slower work.

There is no reason to turn off your Mac.It wouldn't harm it in any way so its fine.

I never turn my Macs off. There is no functional need to do so. There is also no functional need to leave them running if you’re not using them.
