Microsoft Word error message on MacAir - mac os 12.7

Unable to save Word document on my MacAir. Message says, "word cannot complete the save due to a file permission error.


Will someone kindly help me with this?

Microsoft Word is probably attempting to save the document someplace where it can't be saved. You will need to consult its Help pages, or ask Microsoft to find out how to change that.


Try https://support.microsoft.com/en-us


On Macs you can save documents to your Home folder or any of its subfolders: Folders that come with your Mac - Apple Support. Nearly everything else is off-limits.
